Celebrating Kevin's Incredible Recovery
Many of you have been following Kevin’s fight against a form of cancer called “Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia” and lots of you have generously donated towards his medical costs - we can’t thank you enough!
A few weeks ago Kevin had a biopsy to determine the progress of his treatment. The results showed that there is NO CANCER in his bone marrow or blood and that he is officially in remission! This means that all signs and symptoms of cancer have gone! The doctors are totally amazed by Kevin’s progress and results.
The Professor that oversaw Kevin’s treatment was surprised that he lived beyond his first few rounds of Chemotherapy and the doctors are now using Kevin’s journey as a story of hope for other children with life threatening illnesses.
Kevin has now completed his Chemotherapy treatment, his radio therapy is underway and he is moving towards monthly check-ups. Kevin has already undergone 5 (of 10) sessions of radiotherapy with no side affects! We are so excited and celebrating this huge victory! Later this month Kevin will be leaving the hospital and returning back to our base, at The Kenyan Children’s Project where he will be reunited with his brothers and sisters at our Child Rescue Centre and all the staff who love him so much. Kevin has been eagerly awaiting this day.
To date we have spend a total of £23548.24 on Kevin’s life saving cancer treatment. Although this is a lot of money, we believe it is a small price to pay to save the life of our precious son. To date we raised a total of £21,509.52 from people’s generous donations. Based on previous outstanding medical fees and the predicted cost of treatment he is yet to have, there is a remaining £2,568.72 for us to raise.
If you feel you could help us by donating towards the remaining costs for Kevin’s treatment, please get in contact at or you can donate on our website and reference “Kevin Medical” at . Together we can reach this target!
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated and helped save Kevin’s life. We will forever be thankful and we couldn’t do this without you!
